Canadian Jazz & Blues Hall Of Fame

On February 10, 2008 at approximately 10:00 pm CST Jeari Czapla was asked to be apart of the committee for the Canadian Jazz & Blues Hall Of Fame.  Robin Munroe requested the knowledge and expertise of Czapla, and the assistance for writing and inducting acclaimed Canadian Jazz Musicians to the Hall Of Fame.  “I must say, I am honoured that you have chosen me for this task…” Czapla Said in conversation with Munroe.  Although the inductees are a secret until the October 2008 induction, Czapla is working with the committee to create an excellent event.

Czapla Recording New Album

Jeari Czapla and his group have been in the Studio [Grass Roots Sound] to start recording the third album which has a title but will remain a secret for now.  Some of the tracks are things you might not think you would hear from Czapla ashis direction has changed ever so much.  "We are adding more tunes that appeal to a greater audience", says Czapla.  "We have been rehearsing for a month now after the big move and construction of the Studio, and it is sounding excellent!"  You will want to keep you ears open for this album.

Czapla Set To Record New Full Lenght Album

CZAPLA MUSIC is gearing up to record the third full-length independent album.  The title of the new album is going to remain a secret until the international release date.  Czapla will record his next album in his hometown of Winnipeg, and will record at his home base Studio on his acreage in St. Andrews.  Czapla states, "This album will be different from my previously nominated and highly acclaimed full-length independent albums entitled For Ella & Dolce.  This album is going to leave its mark on Canadian Music History.”

Czapla feels he needed some powerful tracks on this new album so he began writing for the new album while on tour supporting his previous release “Dolce”.  Czapla’s first item on his agenda is to record the single for the album, and begin shopping it to different radio stations, countries, and venues.  For more Information please keep yourself posted as we get closer to releasing this project.  Check in every couple days.

Czapla Music Studio Relocates

Czapla Music Studio is relocating to a 660 square foot Studio space on Czapla's own acreage only minutes from Winnipeg, Manitoba.  This beautiful countryside hamlet known as St. Andrews will play host Czapla’s dream Studio. 

Czapla states, "I am building the Studio from the ground up, and the Studio will serve as a Recording Studio, an Educational Studio for Guitar lessons, Bass, Drums, & Vocals lessons, and a rehearsal space for apprenticing & professional musicians. 

Czapla Music Studio will serve the Selkirk, East Selkirk, East St. Paul, West Kildonan, Garden City, and North end of Winnipeg areas.  For more information on Czapla Music Studio contact our studio.

Czapla's Music Heard Around The World!

SOCAN recently released royality statements to Czapla Music.  According to SOCAN royality statements, Czapla's music is played in 16 countries world wide and his success story is beginning to unfold.

Both of Czapla's full lenght independent albums "For Ella" & "Dolce" receive radio air play in; Greece, USA, Hong Kong, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Denmark, Korea, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, & Brazil.

Satelite Radio, which is based out of New York [USA] has being playing Jeari's music since June 2005.  So if you have satelite radio in your car, tune in for Czapla's Music.

Opus One receives an ISBN Number

After 2.5 years of extremely positive sales and marketing, Opus One has become a registered curriculum with the Canadian Government. "Both the Guitar & Bass books have obtained ISBN Numbers, and create a feeling and a real sense of completion,” Czapla states.  Our curriculum has sold over 500 copies independently within a 2.5-year period, and we consider that successful!

Opus One has set the standard for guitar and bass instruction online and is currently not matched by any other company at this time.

Dolce Nominated

Czapla's second album entitled, "Dolce" has been nominated in 2 categories at the 2005 Aboriginal Music Awards. Best Instrumental Album & Best Blues Album. Dolce was short listed at the 2004 “Grammy Awards” for Best Jazz Album, Individual or Group, and is currently heard on over 60 radio stations world wide.

Tim Waterson & Jeari Czapla are working extremely hard at Czapla Music Studio. This 2005 season, Czapla has over 60 students weekly. Chet Breau Records 3 Tracks

Recently in conversation with Chet Breau it was announced that Chet Breau had recorded three tunes. "One is a hit..." He tells Czapla, "one is for Lenny, and one is an amazing version of Mr. Sandman". Engineering this disc is Clayton Tuner [son of Fred Tuner, BTO], and producing the disc is Stew Crookes. Both Reg Kelln and Ron Hallderson are on board for the project. Chet states that he recorded the tracks in his living room, and looks to complete the project in the fall of 2005. LIVE WEBCAST FROM THE SIDETRACK CAFE

Czapla stated this week that the concert on May 27, 2005 at the SIDETRACK CAFE will be WEBCASTED live over the internet. Czapla stated, "I have fans all over the world, and this is a great opportunity for them to hear me perform live. Czapla performs at the Side Track Cafe.

Jeari Czapla and his Uptown Quartet will perform for the first time at the Side Track Cafe on May 27, 2005. A representative from the Side Track Cafe recently stated, "We rarely do Jazz... but you never know." In other words, this may not be the only first for Jeari Czapla. When asked Czapla replied, "I am totally excited to be working at the Side Track Cafe, it is a great room, great people, and a great atmosphere. We have an exciting show planned. This will not only be a jazz show, but a lot of different styles. The Musicians: Drums: Rodger Weir, Percussions: Tim Lent, Bass: Rich Stenson, Vocals: Sonia Donaldson [Klondike Kate 2005], Guitar: Jeari Czapla, Piano: Marc Pearce, and Alto: Rob Varga. For Ella On the Charts again!

Recent Jazz charts and Jazz Radio programs have shown that Czapla's debut album entitled, "For Ella" is once again in the news. Jazz FM in Toronto, is one of Canada's premier Jazz Radio Programs and has being airing tracks off of the successful debut album again. Czapla is pleased with the accomplishment he has made in Canadian history, and looks forward to the recognition of his second album "Dolce". Dolce contains the only cover tune of a Lenny Breau original composition "New York City" ever recorded. Czapla says it is his thanks to Lenny.

Czapla Music Studio Successful!

Czapla Music Studio has become an overnight success story. Czapla states, "In September 2004 I started with 17 students, and now I have well over 50 students a week." Czapla's Studio is the most innovative, high-tech music studio in the Edmonton and surrounding area. Czapla is able to record a student’s lesson, burn a CD-RW, transcribe and print out any sheet music they need all within a half hour. Czapla says, "Nobody else is even close to accomplishing this, including music schools that have been around for years. I have students that come from over 2 hours away just for lessons with me." Jeari Czapla's second release entitled, "Dolce" has OFFICALLY been short listed for the 47th. Annaul GRAMMY Awards Category 48 - "Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group".

Czapla Signed By Burnside

Czapla's catalogue, which includes the album's, "For Ella, and Dolce" have been officially released internationally with Burnside Distribution, on November 9, 2004. Czapla's music is now exclusively distributed via Burnside Distribution. Czapla says, "I am of a small percentile of independent Canadian musicians that achieve this type of success in their music careers. I am now in the fore-front of every American Jazz fans mind." Czapla will begin his first international supporting tour in January 2005.

Dolce #1!

"Dolce" obtains #1 status on "Top 10" chart in Canada for well over a month. In September 2004 "Dolce" hits both #1 [CJSR FM], and #9 [CFBX FM]. In October 2004, "Dolce" remains at #1 [CJSR FM] and climbs to #6 [CFBX FM]. Czapla states, "I am so proud to hear my music affecting peoples lives. I write music that pleases me, and I am so pleased to hear other people really digging it." Czapla's music is currently heard around the world on numerous play lists.

"For Ella" Re-Pressed.

Czapla's first released has sold well over 1,200 units in Canada alone within two years. The successful disc is currently being re-pressed in Montreal and will be distributed international via Burnside in November 2004. Czapla stated, "If the CRTC considers me to be a very success independent Canadian Musician, then I must be..." he laughs. "...the CRTC says, most independent artist will only sell roughly 500 units of any pressing, I have at least doubled that stat." "For Ella" has been at the top of many "Top 10" lists for over two years, and continues to be seen in the charts across Canada.

For Ella #20 Across Canada!

For Ella continues to make the Jazz Charts across Canada, and was recently found at #20 on the Ear Shot Magazine list. Czapla's has scheduled his second release, which will be entitled "Dolce" for the fall of 2004. Czapla is sure to be making Canadian history and headlines again. Czapla says, "I have arranged the first ever cover of a Lenny Breau original called "New York City". Chet [Lenny's Son] tells me that although lots of people play like him, nobody has ever covered his original music. That makes me the first in history, according to Chet." "For Ella" #1!

This week CHRW 94.9 FM in London Ontario released their "Top 10" Jazz Chart, "For Ella" has obtained #1 status. This is another milestone accomplishment for Czapla, and his music career. Czapla states, "I am working hard to get my name out there, and it is good to see it show up on these lists. After all, these lists shape the commercial lists, and you cannot get on the commercial play lists if your name doesn’t show up on these lists. I have been on the commercial play lists for a year now, that says something.”

Czapla Confirmed at Barrie Jazz Festival

Jeari Czapla & The Uptown Trio have been confrimed at the 2006 Barrie Ontario Jazz Festival.  Czapla has 2 concert dates during the Festival which include a Main Stage Performance, and a Club Date performance. Both settings are going to exiting as Czapla and the Uptown Trio have not yet brought their magical performance to barrie Ontario.  Czapla was informed that Barrie is truly looking forward to having him perform, and "Thee Meeting Place" is schedule for a sell out.  If you are planning to attend the intamate club setting, get there early.  Reservation will not be taken at this venue for this date due to the overwhelming response to this venue. For more information, visit www.barriejazzbluesfest.com/
